Conference Proceedings

Medwave protocol for publication of Conference Proceedings (Book of conference abstracts).

Budget request (Congress organizers)

Conference organizers should contact Patricio Gomolan through the channels established in the Journal, either by direct mail to Patricio Gomolan in editorial@medwave.cl or mail to Rodrigo Nuñez (publishing@medwave.cl), who will refer the request.

Once the contact is made, Patricio will establish the commercial conditions of the agreement, and will extend the budget whose value will depend on how many Abstracts are finally published.

Request for Congress Data (Medwave)

Once the budget has been approved by the organizers, Medwave will send them an Excel spreadsheet to be completed, with the main data of each abstract (Title, Title in English, Topic, Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Keywords) and the identification data of each of the authors who presented the paper (Name, Last Name, Affiliation, Email and ORCID if applicable).

Medwave will also ask the organizers for the complete list of the organizing and scientific committee of the congress, and all the graphic material that will be used to generate the cover of the book of abstracts in PDF. As institutional logos, in high resolution.

Reception of data and first review (Organizers/Medwave)

Once the organizers have completed the Excel, they must send it for a first review, where they will check that all the requested data are present. Once all the material has been correctly submitted, Medwave will proceed to the editorial editing stage through its editorial management (Kriyadocs) and publication (Active) platforms and the congress will be placed on the cover as a special issue (or Supplement), accessible through the "Archive" section of the Medwave website (www.medwave.cl). The PDF will be available in each of the entries corresponding to the submitted Abstracts.

If the submitted Excel is found to have incomplete data, or any information does not correspond to that requested, Medwave will send it back to the organizers to make any necessary corrections.

Indexing and DOI

Medwave offers the organizers the possibility of increasing the scope of the congress by providing a DOI number to the congress as a whole and a specific DOI number to each abstract presented, as well as the indexing of this congress in different scientific databases, mainly MEDLINE/PubMED and Scopus.

It is the responsibility of the organizers to clarify to the authors that the indexing in databases (mainly Scopus) is only for the Congress and the Book of Abstracts as a unit and that the individual Abstracts -and their respective authorships-, will not be indexed. In other words, it will be possible to find in Scopus the registration of the congress as a whole, but not those who have presented a conference paper individually.
